Giovanni L. Bordone is an accomplished academic and fashion industry expert with over 15 years of professional experience and nearly a decade in higher education. His expertise lies in luxury tailoring, product personalisation, and fashion business innovation, with a career that bridges teaching, research, and corporate training.
Giovanni has delivered executive education and training programmes for leading fashion companies across 20 countries in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East, equipping professionals with the skills to navigate an increasingly competitive and globalised industry. In recognition of his pedagogical excellence, he was awarded Senior Fellowship (SFHEA) in Higher Education in February 2024.
At university level, Giovanni teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with modules including Culture, Media and Society, Leading Innovation in Fashion, Online Fashion Retail, and Retail Design, Buying and Merchandising. He has also contributed extensively to MBA curricula, focusing on fashion marketing, luxury management, corporate strategy, and the economics of the fashion industry.
His research is centred on fashion personalisation and production-on-demand, investigating consumer behaviour, digitalisation, and sustainable approaches to tailoring. Recent publications include The Global State of Fashion Personalisation in 2024 and Mass Personalisation in the Fashion Industry: A Comprehensive Literature Review. He is also a sought-after speaker at international conferences, sharing insights on the evolving dynamics of fashion consumption and innovation.
Giovanni serves as a Board Advisor for The Time Capsule Project and as a member of the Alumni Advisory Board for East London University’s School of Arts and Creative Industries, contributing to thought leadership in the future of fashion and education.
